The Kit Bag
I am often asked when out and about what I have in my kit bag – possibly as it seems to onlookers that I am breaking my back carrying all the gear!
Well, the simple answer is I do carry all of my gear. I NEVER leave any in the car – I was broken into about two months ago at the NEC in Birmingham and ALL of my kit was nicked, along with a lot of climbing gear, walking gear and would you believe it my dirty laundry!!! (Even worse was that non of this has been found as even dumped by the roadside – what kind of sickos want to wear someone else’s dirty underwear!!)
So, my kit bag includes:
I also use a 50mm f1.4 This is the cheapest lens I have and an absolute cracker!!
I also have two Canon 580 EX II Speedlights with Stofen diffusers
Along with those goes a spare battery charger, two Manfrotto tripod attachment gizmo thingys(one on each body) a cleaning kit (dust blower, fluid, tissues etc), business cards, several 1Gb USB keys, recordable DVD’s, an 18% grey card, 16 spare AA batteries for the Speedlights, copy of my ECRB certificate, spare model release forms, several pens including a pen to write on the DVD’s, a card reader and my 15″ Mac Book Pro laptop. On the side of the bag goes a Manfrotto MN190X tripod and Manfrotto MN222 joystick head on the tripod.
I manage to put all of that into a LowePro CompuTrecker rucksack. Oh, and a Gerber multi tool goes onto the shoulder strap – just in case!
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I always look look like I’m breaking my back when lugging my kit around.
Thanks
